Unleash the Power of Storytelling for Personal and Societal Transformation

So many BIG feelings today. Hold me closely, friends.

Do you believe storytelling can catalyze personal and societal transformation?

I hope the rhetorical power of personal narratives shines through in how I blend my story with my professional mission. By sharing my journey, shaped by creativity, resilience, and a passion for social change, I hope to connect more deeply with others and foster a sense of purpose and possibility.

During my graduate studies, I discovered how powerful it could be to weave these values together. My journey included bringing my art to life through projects in the Leonardo Labs, exploring worldbuilding, and reconnecting with my voice as a poet. This was more than an academic exercise. The worldbuilding was a process of resilience, exploration, and clarity, ultimately shaping my belief that creativity can be a radical force for social change. W.E.B. DuBois's view that "all art is propaganda" resonates deeply with me, as I see art as a tool for advocacy and a means to amplify underrepresented voices. This belief in the transformative power of creativity gives me hope and optimism for a more equitable future.

Sharing our stories connects us deeply with others.

By opening up about my journey, I aim to foster hope and purpose in those I work with, particularly in advocating for structural equity and inclusion. Personal storytelling isn't just recounting experiences; it's about inspiring others to see their lives as catalysts for transformation, empowering them to take control of their narratives.

My experiences illustrate that while there may be no map on life's "squiggly journey," they can serve as guideposts for finding purpose, resilience, and growth.

Our stories have the power to inspire positive change and create a sense of understanding that transcends our differences.
